Premier Engineering is working with a well-established engineering company based in Nottinghamshire. They are looking to expand their design team by hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer with SolidWorks experience to work on exciting engineering projects.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
  • Experience in mechanical design, ideally within manufacturing, machinery, or product development.
  • Knowledge of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes such as machining and fabrication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to produce engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
  • Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Producing detailed engineering drawings, models, and specifications.
  • Generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure designs meet technical and project requirements.
  • Conducting design reviews and implementing modifications to improve performance and cost efficiency.
  • Ensuring designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Assisting in prototype development and testing.
