We are seeking a Compliance and Governance Officer to join a busy and thriving team on a full time, permanent basis. This role will oversee Compliance, Governance, Insurance, Ethics and Training and requires an individual who is able to complete duties to a high standard.

THE ROLE

As Compliance and Governance Officer your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Compliance

  • Identify, assessing and reviewing compliance risks, developing strategies to reduce these
  • Producing reports on compliance matters and activities
  • Keeping on top of external regulatory developments and best practices
  • Supporting global compliance initiatives
  • Drafting and implementing internal compliance related policies, procedures, processes and controls
  • Managing and communicating the Code of Ethics and similar
  • Leading on compliance audits, reporting results and following up on opportunities for improvement
  • Identifying training needs (including induction, face-to-face and e-learning)
  • Co-ordinating and delivering training
  • Updating communication channels with compliance awareness
  • Managing compliance events

Governance

  • Assisting in the review and development of governance arrangements
  • Managing governance reporting
  • Managing a schedule of statutory meetings

Insurance

  • Overseeing the operation of the insurance programme and processes
  • Assisting with annual insurance renewal processes

Other Duties

  • Putting together departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Generating purchase orders and processing invoices through Oracle
  • Some UK and EMEA travel will be required occasionally
THE CANDIDATE

An ideal Candidate for the Compliance and Governance Officer will possess the following:

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • Relevant compliance and / or governance qualification (ICA, CGI etc.) We will also consider Candidates with relevant in-house compliance experience
  • Willing to enhance and develop compliance and governance skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and oral)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 software
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and projects
  • Knowledge of internal compliance auditing
  • Ability to identify risks
  • Excellent presentation skills (including the design and delivery of training)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work on sensitive matters

A Compliance and Governance Officer candidate will ideally have 3 years experience within an in-house compliance and / or legal department, along with proven experience of developing / operating procedures and processes. Experience of working in a multinational business environment would be advantageous.
