The venue dates back to the 16th century and offers stunning views . Situated in the historic village of suffolk, the pub is ideally placed to enjoy country walks and for visiting the popular coastal towns of Southwold and Walberswick.

With a a warm and welcoming atmosphere the team certainly know how to look after the locals and visitors alike.

We are looking for a Commis chef to join the team ideally with previous experience in a kitchen environment. This is a fantastic opportunity where the successful candidate can learn and develop their skills not only from the kitchen team but also via a professional route.

As Commis you will be responsible for food preparation with a good understanding of knife skills and supporting all kitchen sections. You will ensure kitchen stations are clean and will learn about hygiene regulations and practices. Stock rotation is key, and you will work with the senior chefs to ensure all food is correctly rotated and stored.

The ideal candidate may have some industry experience, or recently have completed training or still undertaking formal training.

This is a pivotal role within the kitchen brigade and we are seeking a Commis that enjoys using local produce who will deliver to a consistently high standard

You will be able to work under pressure, have great communication skills and be a team player.

Flexibility required to cover a variety of shifts per week including bank holidays and weekends.
