Financial Accountant

Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum, plus annual bonus

Our client is recruiting for a technically strong Financial Accountant to join a rapidly growing company based in Spalding.

The Role

You will play an integral part of the finance team, helping to maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations while preparing accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. You will Ensure integrity, accuracy and reliability of financial records and transactions through the use of systems and technology and develop processes and control measures for all group companies

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial processes and procedures are appropriate to ensure integrity, reliability, accuracy of financial systems and data within them to comply with accounting standards
  • Prepare financial statements for audit for group companies and liaise with auditors
  • Maintain company share registers and assist with the administration of company share scheme and share trading process
  • Control the monthly consolidation process for group companies by -
    • Coordinating monthly and annual intercompany recharge postings
    • Ensuring all intercompany transactions are posted monthly and reconciled across group entities
    • Maintain up to date reconciled intercompany borrowing positions to aid decision making
  • Coordinate corporation tax, R&D tax credit and VAT return preparation
  • Represent the department in business development activities including projects and M&A activities
  • Work with management accountant to ensure accuracy of reporting and help provide cover for that role
  • Balance sheet account and cashflow reporting
  • Liaising with all companywide teams, customers, suppliers, auditors, other external bodies and stakeholders to present the business in the best light
  • Represent the department in companywide working groups and events

Skills and Qualifications

  • ACA / ACCA qualification or equivalent (a finalist will also be considered)
  • Understanding of accounting principles in a group environment
  • Strong communicator with ability to engage with Financial and non-financial team members
  • Excellent time management and organizing skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Effective IT skills including Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Collaboration skills
  • Excellent Customer service skills
