Procurement Executive
A truly exciting opportunity for a Procurement Executive to join one of the UK’s leading operators in a fresh produce sector. Our client supplies the country’s largest retailers and processors and aims to be market leaders through linking outstanding consumer insight, sustainable procurement, technical innovation, and operational efficiency to provide their customers with good quality products at great value.

Main responsibilities for a successful Procurement Executive:
As a Procurement Executive, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards, reporting to the Procurement Director.
- Manage and develop supplier relationships and ongoing negotiations – keep internal customers informed and involved in ongoing supplier management.
- Identify the category strategies and rolling programme of areas to be addressed within the procurement strategy.
- Analysis of procurement spend and supply base to establish suppliers per procurement category.
- Develop external communications with regards to general product knowledge and supplier culture.
- Analysis of supply markets to identify potential suppliers and market trends.
- Identification of internal and external cost drivers in the categories.
- Negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure that service, quality, added value, total cost, security and supply and the development of supplier’s capabilities are secured.
- Preparation of pre-tender and tender documents in conjunction with the key users.
About the successful Procurement Executive:
- Knowledge of procurement within Ingredients and Fresh Fruit
- Experience of dealing with a fragmented user base in multiple locations.
- Experience of working in a complex environment with high levels of uncertainty around predicted or future purchase requirements.
- Excellent negotiating and influencing skills at all levels are essential.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Supplier and Project management skills.
- Flexible approach to international travel
