CNC Press Brake Operator / Machinist
Location: Spalding, Lincolnshire
Salary: £12 - £14 per hour (Depending on experience)
Our client is a fabrication and engineering design company, specialising in agricultural and industrial applications.
Due to further expansion, they are looking for a brake press operator to join their friendly team, ideally with an immediate start. The role could be combined with operation of CNC machine tools.
The Role
- Day to day set up and operation of press
- Checking material for size, thickness and grade
- Working out developed lengths and plate sizes as required from design drawings DXF and PDF files
- Following documentation and cutting materials as required
- Loading sheets onto and parts off machine
- Ensuring customer orders are processed in timely manner and meeting quality standards
- Cleaning of cut parts
- Inspecting own work before passing it on to next stage of production
- Solving quality issues
- Efficient use and management of stock and materials
- Machine maintenance, basic service and problem solving
- General housekeeping of allocated production areas
- Monitor allocated inventory of raw materials and components for manufacture
- Communicate with team members to ensure manufacturing schedules are achieved
- Adhering to health and safety regulations
- Packaging of parts for dispatch
- Palletising of parts required for next stage of production
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
- Relevant CNC brake press operation experience
- Ability to measure accurately
- Experience working in sheet metal fabrication environment
- Knowledge of materials, grades and finishes
- Good understanding of technical drawings
- Ability to work on own initiative with ‘can do’ attitude and willing to learn
- Forklift experience
- IT literate
- Driving license
Desirable:
- CNC machinist experience
- Experience of electrical problem solving
- Understanding of CNC principles
- Forklift license
- Adaptability to change
- Assembly experience
