Our well established client is seeking an experienced, highly organised and detail-orientated Legal Secretary to join their busy and dynamic legal team providing first class secretarial and administration support. Th ideal individual will possess strong administrative skills and a comprehensive understanding of legal terminology and procedures. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the office, providing vital support to the legal professionals while managing various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to solicitors and legal teams, including managing calendars and scheduling appointments.
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Manage incoming communications, including emails and phone calls, ensuring timely responses.
  • Maintain an organised filing system for both physical and electronic documents.
  • Conduct research as required to support ongoing cases or projects.
  • Assist with audio typing and transcription of legal documents.
  • Utilise software such as Outlook and Excel for document management and communication purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality protocols while handling sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a legal environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel) and familiarity with IT systems relevant to the legal field
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
