Our client is a leading food business who supply to a variety of the major retailers. As they continue to expand and grow their presence in the marketplace they are now seeking a driven and ambitious Technical Manager to join their business.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Oversee all technical and quality aspects of the products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and retailer requirements.
* Act as the primary technical point of contact for major retailers, managing relationships and ensuring satisfaction with our product quality and safety.
* Implement and maintain rigorous quality control systems to guarantee the highest product standards from farm to shelf.
* Manage and improve the HACCP system, ensuring all safety and quality protocols are adhered to across the production process.
* Mentor and develop the technical team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
* Prepare for and lead internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and retailer standards.
* Collaborate with R&D to drive product development and innovation, aligning with market trends and customer needs.
* Champion sustainability practices within the business, working towards environmentally friendly and ethical production methods.
* Utilise technical data and KPIs to inform decision-making and drive improvements in product quality and operational efficiency.
* Work closely with operations, production, and sales teams to align technical requirements with business goals.
About you:
* Proven track record in a similar role in food/fresh manufacturing is required
* Understanding of sustainability in the supply chain
* Experience in a Technical role with major retailers
