Overview
Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Production Team Leader for a business based in Spalding. As the Production Team Leader, your primary responsibility is to oversee the efficient operation of a designated production line. Your role will be managing the team's performance, ensuring adherence to compliance regulations, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Previous experience as a Machine Operative in a Production environment is essential.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Production Team Leader
- Lead the production line team to build capability, enhance engagement, and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Manage key operational effectiveness measures, including product waste reduction, right-first-time quality processing, labour utilization, productivity, and overall efficiency.
- Oversee all line resources, including stock, equipment, and labour, to ensure tasks are completed effectively; maintain KBS accuracy for labour and raw materials, and close runs upon completion.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene in your area of responsibility.
- Train new and inexperienced team members according to the training plan and SOPs.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of management information and control documentation in compliance with traceability, official standards, and legislation to prevent rejections and non-compliance.
- Refer formal man management issues, quality and order queries, and KBS concerns to the Area Controller.
- Ensure operations are conducted safely and without detriment to the health and safety of employees or others affected by the activities.
- Regularly review risk assessments for the area.
- Document and investigate all reported accidents, incidents, and near misses in collaboration with the Area Controller.
- Provide employees with appropriate levels of information, instruction, training, and supervision.
- Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and well-being, environmental, technical, equal opportunities, diversity, dignity at work, and hygiene policies.
Requirements for the Production Team Leader
- Previous experience as a Machine Operative
- Strong prioritisation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other IT skills.
- Ability to positively influence and build strong relationships across all organisational levels.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in the fresh produce industry.
