We're looking for a Genomics Researcher to drive forward groundbreaking research in plant genetics. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Managing and developing genomics research projects, ensuring strong collaboration with partners.
  • Identifying, sourcing, and developing markers/genes for commercially valuable traits.
  • Using bioinformatics and genetic techniques to enhance breeding efficiency.
  • Keeping up to date with cutting-edge research, exploring new technologies, and embedding best practices into the business.
  • Improving genotyping protocols to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Exploring methods to increase genetic diversity and breeding speed.
  • Working closely with internal teams, external research institutes, and industry leaders.
  • Leading and motivating a small team to achieve their full potential.
  • Ensuring high standards of health and safety, compliance, and best practices across all research activities.


What We're Looking For:

  • Ideally you'll have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong experience in plant biology, genetics, or genomics (agriculture or horticulture background is a plus).
  • Experience developing genotyping and sequencing protocols.
  • Experience working with external research organisations and collaborating on research projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail, scientific knowledge, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • A proactive mindset, eager to explore new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • A full driving licence and flexibility for occasional European travel.
