We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join our secondary school in central Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and engage students in the study of English literature and language. The role is set to commence before Christmas this year, offering the successful candidate the chance to make a significant impact on our students’ learning journey.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Delivering engaging English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Preparing lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitoring and evaluating students’ progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school training events.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop new curriculum materials and teaching resources.
  • Contributing to the school’s extracurricular programmes, such as reading clubs or writing workshops.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in English.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching English at secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and current educational practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
