A college in Boston is seeking a Security Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This role involves covering shifts from 4pm to 10pm, Monday to Friday. The position is to cover ongoing sickness and is available until 19th December, with the possibility of extension. An immediate start is available for the right candidate.
Day-to-day of the role:- Monitor the college premises to ensure the safety and security of the students and staff.
- Conduct regular patrols of the property to detect and deter any suspicious activities.
- Manage access control at various entry points, ensuring that only authorised personnel are allowed entry.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances promptly.
- Maintain a log of security incidents and report any issues to the relevant authorities.
- Provide a visible security presence to reassure students, staff, and visitors.
- Must hold a valid SIA Licence.
- DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience in a security role, preferably within an educational environment.
- Strong observational skills to spot unusual behaviour and manage security situations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with students, staff, and emergency personnel.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Competitive hourly rate including holiday pay.
