About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Education Officer who is fluent in both Dari and Pashto, the primary languages spoken in Afghanistan. This role involves supporting children and young people from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they receive an inclusive and high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support bilingual students in accessing education and overcoming language barriers.
  • Promote multi-cultural and anti-racist education, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with schools, families, and local communities to provide tailored support.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people in all educational settings.
  • Travel across County Durham to deliver services where needed.
Requirements:
  • Fluency in both Dari and Pashto (spoken and written).
