The RoleWe are seeking two Outreach Support Workers to work two-on-one with a female student with Smith-Kingsmore syndrome. This role is focused on developing life skills, encouraging independence, and providing personalised support in both educational and community settings. You will play a crucial role in helping her build confidence, social skills, and practical abilities for day-to-day living.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualised support tailored to the student's unique needs.
- Focus on teaching essential life skills, such as communication, social interactions, daily routines, and self-care.
- Encourage and facilitate engagement in education, social activities, and the local community.
- Offer emotional and practical support, fostering independence in a safe and structured way.
- Work closely with families, educators, and other professionals to develop a personalised support plan.
- Advocate for the student's needs and ensure access to appropriate resources and services.
- Maintain accurate records to monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
- Experience in a support worker/carer role whether this is with children or adults.
- An understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly Smith-Kingsmore syndrome, or a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual learning styles.
- Knowledge of life skills development and strategies for promoting independence.

- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred).
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
