Job Title: Structural Design Engineer
Location: St Austell
Hours: 8:00am - 5:15pm (Mon-Fri), with a 30-minute lunch break

At Interaction Recruitment we are on the lookout for a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our dedicated and friendly team. As an integral part of our mission to make life easier for our customers, you will bring your expertise in structural design to support our growth and continued success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee and manage all structural engineering requirements for M&E-related enquiries.
  • Review customer technical requirements and manage incoming enquiries in the inbox.
  • Utilise design software such as CAD, Revit, AutoCAD, and RSTAB for structural design projects.
  • Draft CAD drawings for conceptual and construction works.
  • Model mechanical and electrical supports using 3D plant software.
  • Calculate steel framing solutions with RSTAB software.
  • Create building models using BIM to ensure all necessary supports are included.
  • Generate material take-offs for workshop and purchasing teams.
  • Solve design challenges related to structural support.
  • Provide excellent customer communication over the phone.
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and address any design issues.
  • Assist with engineering administration tasks, including workload planning and quality checks.
  • Continually improve your knowledge of our products, software plugins, and libraries.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Support other team members with training and reviews.

Who You Are:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and RSTAB.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems.
  • A degree in engineering.
  • Familiar with bolted connections and modular steelwork.
  • Experienced with BIM modelling and structural design/analysis.
  • Knowledgeable in building codes and regulations.
  • Strong communicator who collaborates well with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
