Global Sales Engineer Job Overview
My client are a world leading premium brand in the design, manufacture, and supply of specialty equipment for the rubber industry and the industry's leading source for reliable, quality machinery designed to maximize efficiency and improve productivity and profitability.
They are currently looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer with experience in machinery manufacturing background.
Once fully trained, you will be mainly required to work on your own, but in close conjunction with the Sales Manager. You will receive significant support and additional direction from the UK office for sales, marketing and technical expertise.
The successful candidate may have to spend up to two weeks at a time away from home, so you must be extremely flexible, this can often include weekends, and often at short notice. Support and assistance on planning sales trips, particularly during your first few months will be provided.
Main responsibilities include:
- Visiting customers and prospects with local agent to follow up sales enquires to determine and clarify customer requirements
- Dealing with in coming queries via telephone or email
- Arranging travel for Sales trips when required
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the companies products
- Assist with trade show preparation and on occasions attend trade shows
- Frequent worldwide travel to Europe, South America, Asia, and Southeast Asia
- Presentation to customers and prospects of new products
- Maintaining relationships with existing customers
- Quoting machinery and following the sales process through to its conclusion
- Carrying out trials on demo machines
- Keeping Salesforce (CRM) fully up to date
Foundation training would be supplied on all aspects of the role. Introduction of new procedure and suggestions to improve efficiency are welcomed and encouraged.
Global Sales Engineer Job Requirements
- Knowledge of machinery manufacturing (Preferred but not essential for the right candidate)
- 5-10 Years Technical Sales Experience
- Ability to work alone and manage their own workload
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be well organised
- Good level of knowledge in Microsoft products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Knowledge of CRM (although not essential).
- Full Clean Driving License (Essential)
- Successful DBS check (Essential)
