Technical Sales Representative

Kap Technical are working with a leading provider in welding, specialized TIG welding, and assembly of gas and liquid handling systems, serves a range of industries including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, process, and scientific fields. We work with stainless steel and high-nickel alloys, providing expert solutions to our clients.

We are seeking a technically proficient Sales Representative to manage the Southern UK region. This mid-level role requires both the management of existing clients and the development of new business opportunities. The ideal candidate would have an engineering background, ideally in mechanical engineering, TIG welding, specialist pipework, or work experience with gas and liquid systems. Industry experience in any of our target sectors is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales within the Southern UK region, managing a market valued over 1.5M.
  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Conduct cold calls and follow up on leads generated by the sales and marketing team.
  • Spend approximately 25% of work time visiting clients within the assigned territory.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and conferences across the UK as required.
  • Manage customer interactions, opportunities, and forecasts through CRM software.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to prepare customer proposals.r.

Requirements:

  • Engineering experience, ideally in mechanical engineering or welding.
  • Demonstrated sales experience or a strong technical background with interest in sales.
  • Strong technical acumen, preferably with a foundation in mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Confident and proactive in initiating calls with new prospective clients.
  • Clean driving license.

Compensation Package:

  • Office-based position located at our facility in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire.
  • Competitive salary (35-45k base) plus car allowance, depending on experience.
  • Company bonus based on both company and individual performance.
