Position Title: Mechanical Assembly
Location: St.Neots (PE19)
Hours: 07:30 am- 4 pm (Mon- Thur) & 07:30 am- 01:30 pm (Fri)
Salary: 14.17- 15.88/hour
JOB PURPOSE
Working within the Mechanical Assembly process team, assembling electro-mechanical sub-assemblies through to complete box build using a variety of small hand tools. To follow methods and sequence of operations in; cable assembly, electro-mechanical, unit assembly including soldering of cables and potting of PCBAs. Adhering to internal production process and workflow plans while reporting to the process supervisor.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembling electro-mechanical units while adhering to production documentation.
- Assembling cable assemblies including, cutting, stripping, tinning, crimping, and terminating.
- Using a variety of hand tools such as, screw drivers, cutters, nut runners, crimpers, torque screw drivers.
- Working with-in a flow line team at the flow line facility when required.
- Potting both PCBAs and Units using mixing and dispensing machine.
- PAT Testing multi-level chassis units.
- Working with Engineering using customer supplied documentation during NPI process.
- Learn and perform basic troubleshooting protocols and rework for non-conforming units
- Ability to be flexible and handle priority changes as they occur
- Meet expected daily production requirements
- To carry out normal assembly tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing business is desirable.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the use of hand tools including, screwdrivers, wrenches, and heat guns, with good manual dexterity is required.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in soldering cables and wires.
- Any previous experience of being IPC-A-610 certified is not critical but desirable.
- Thorough understanding of workmanship standards and quality control procedures including compliance for ESD.
- Comfortable with use of Microsoft Office suit is desirable.
