Interim Electrical Inspector

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Electrical Inspector to join a North London Local Authority. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in electrical installations within domestic and residential buildings. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing flexibility between on-site and remote work.

Essential Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds (Level 3) or equivalent
  • IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition
  • UK recognized qualifications

Experience:

  • 5+ years in a similar role, with extensive knowledge of electrical installations in domestic and residential buildings (communal areas).

Skills:

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in MS Office Packages (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams

Typical Tasks:

  • Conduct surveys of low and high-rise buildings
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, including Condition Reports and Feasibility Reports
  • Perform inspections, recording the progress of electrical works on-site
  • Highlight issues related to electrical services, including specification, regulatory, health & safety, or engineering preference
  • Document project journeys
  • Liaise with Project Managers and/or Project Engineers and attend Project Progress Meetings
  • Provide customer care by liaising with residents, sometimes working out of hours (time given back in lieu)
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, including Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Main Contractors
  • Ensure quality and standards by performing snagging with the Main Contractor and maintaining thorough records
  • Oversee the handover process, including soft landings to Repairs & Maintenance
