Interim Electrical Inspector
Location:North London/Hybrid
Rate:45.83 per hour (umbrella)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Electrical Inspector to join a North London Local Authority. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in electrical installations within domestic and residential buildings. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing flexibility between on-site and remote work.
Essential Qualifications:
- City & Guilds (Level 3) or equivalent
- IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition
- UK recognized qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years in a similar role, with extensive knowledge of electrical installations in domestic and residential buildings (communal areas).
Skills:
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Proficient in MS Office Packages (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams
Typical Tasks:
- Conduct surveys of low and high-rise buildings
- Prepare comprehensive reports, including Condition Reports and Feasibility Reports
- Perform inspections, recording the progress of electrical works on-site
- Highlight issues related to electrical services, including specification, regulatory, health & safety, or engineering preference
- Document project journeys
- Liaise with Project Managers and/or Project Engineers and attend Project Progress Meetings
- Provide customer care by liaising with residents, sometimes working out of hours (time given back in lieu)
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, including Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Main Contractors
- Ensure quality and standards by performing snagging with the Main Contractor and maintaining thorough records
- Oversee the handover process, including soft landings to Repairs & Maintenance
