Permanent Vacancy – Financial Accountant
Location: St Albans, AL4 (1 day per week remote working)
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £50,000 to £60,0000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Director of Finance and ensure the effective financial management of the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance team, providing effective leadership and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of all transactions and processes.
- Review, maintain, and develop the finance system, ensuring its fitness for purpose, access controls, and integrity.
- Support the preparation of key management reports for Senior Leadership Team and Corporation meetings.
- Manage Treasury functions to optimize interest income while maintaining accessible funds.
- Production of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all finance returns (e.g., ONS and VAT returns).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified Accountant with a professional accountancy qualification (CCAB).
- Strong financial accounting skills and experience.
