What you'll do:

As a Management Accountant, your role will be pivotal in shaping the financial landscape of the organisation. You will be responsible for preparing, reporting, and reconciling month-end management accounts. Your keen eye for detail will enable you to provide insightful commentary and analysis on variances to budgets, flash, prior month, and prior year. You will engage with departmental Heads & Directors to ensure their respective P&L's are accurately represented. Your commitment to excellence will see you taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliation while also assisting in developing team operating procedures and policies. Your role will extend beyond accounting as you support internal and external audits, assist with budget production, and contribute to analytical analysis.

  • Prepare, report and reconcile month-end management accounts (P&L & BS)
  • Provide insightful commentary and analysis on variances to budgets, flash, prior month and prior year
  • Monitor KPI's, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variances
  • Engage with departmental Heads & Directors to ensure their respective P&L's are understood and correctly presented
  • Take ownership of the balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assist in developing and implementing management accounts team operating procedures and policies
  • Support the internal and external audit process
  • Assist with the production of annual budgets and supporting analytical analysis

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position is part-qualified AAT/CIMA with excellent communication skills. You have strong Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIF functions. Your self-motivated nature allows you to work well under pressure both independently and within a team environment. You have an excellent ability to prioritise your workload while adhering to strict deadlines. Your attention to detail is impeccable which complements your good working knowledge of current accounting software systems.

  • Part qualified AAT/CIMA
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF functions
  • Self-motivated, flexible can-do attitude works well under pressure, on own initiative and in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritise work load and keep to strict deadlines

  • Good working knowledge of current accounting software systems
