Trusts and Tax Director Opportunity

Are you an experienced leader in trust taxation, probate, and inheritance tax, ready to take on a dynamic role within a progressive and growing team? Our client is seeking a knowledgeable Tax & Trusts Director to drive their trust, estate planning, and probate services, ensuring both technical excellence and the highest standard of client care.

This role involves overseeing trust and probate matters, providing strategic advice on wills, estate planning, and inheritance tax, and working closely with clients to deliver tailored guidance in line with current regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement: Meet with potential clients to assess needs, scope out projects, and establish pricing for trust, probate, and estate planning services.
  • Client Onboarding: Manage the initial client onboarding, including preparing engagement letters and conducting KYC checks.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact, offering support and guidance throughout the compliance process and estate planning journey.
  • Compliance and Correspondence: Handle all relevant interactions with HMRC and HMCTS to ensure accurate and timely compliance.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee, mentor, and review the work of junior team members, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
  • Preparation and Review: Draft and review estate and trust accounts and tax returns, including ensuring compliance with Trust Registration Service, FATCA, and CRS as needed.
  • Probate Management: Lead the probate process for non-contentious cases from start to finish.
  • Business Development: Identify and contribute to practice growth opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • CTA and/or STEP qualification (essential).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in probate or private client services.
