St Albans City and District Council are looking for an Asset Manager to join.

  • Inside IR35.
  • £40-49 per hour.

Key requirements for the assignment:

  • Full membership of RICS
  • Significant local authority valuations experience with right to buy experience and knowledge
  • Asset Management and surveying expertise at an operational level with an understanding of statutory financial procedures to enable Council accounts to be finalised
  • No direct responsibility for staff management

Job Purpose:

  • The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Council's asset management function within Estate Services, including the line management of the Asset Management Surveyor.
  • To take the Council lead on operational and community property asset use and optimisation, devolution of assets to bodies such as local Parish Councils, transfer of assets and community asset matters as well as repurposing and regeneration projects and on procuring portfolio-wide Red Book valuations and Reinstatement Cost Assessments.
  • To lead and deliver on specific priority projects and business objectives within the asset management function and to act in a support capacity for priority projects in the wider service, where required.
  • Supporting the Estates Services Manager more broadly on delivering strategic work and business planning, as required, including the provision of effective records management.
