Registered Manager (Children Residential Services)

New home opening - St Albans, Hertfordshire

Salary £45,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience

We are looking for a Registered Manager to support the MD with the opening of a new children home in St Albans, who has previous experience of working with Children with EBD. The home is a 4 bedded provision that specialises in supporting Children / Young People between the ages of 10 - 17 years old.

You will be joining an organisation that is committed to providing young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties a home away from home.

Working as a Children Home Registered Manager, you must be willing to go above and beyond for the children and young people - ensuring that they have an experience of childhood that they can reflect upon and carry with them into adulthood.

Must have excellent knowledge of the Quality Care Standards that govern Children Residential settings and have the skills and qualities needed in providing the high quality of care to the Children residing at the home.

Responsibilities: Registered Manager

  • Ability to manage a Residential Home and ensure the efficient operation of the service in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures, policies, and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
  • To produce a development plan for the service that ensures the delivery of high quality, research informed practice.
  • To support staff to achieve the highest standards of care for the children.
  • To assist and supervise in the continual assessment of the needs of the children and young people and to identify and prepare specific placement plans to ensure the most appropriate service provision.
  • To coordinate and monitor casework and administrative functions of the home and evaluate standards of performance.
  • To contribute to a comprehensive staff training and development programme to enable the service to have available all necessary skills and levels of expertise to meet the needs of the children.

Essential Criteria: Registered Manager

  • Must have a NVQ level 5 in leadership and management (or equivalent).
  • Recent experience working as a Registered Manager in a Children Home for at least 3 years.
  • Thorough understanding of the regulations and legislation that set the standards within a children home.
  • Ability to showcase leadership and management skills.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
  • Full UK Driving licence.
