A small, dynamic, and independent fire safety engineering and management company is looking for a Graduate Fire Safety Engineer to join their team based in St Albans on a full-time basis. 

Due to their rapidly expanding portfolio of projects, they are seeking an enthusiastic graduate with a passion for fire safety engineering to join their team to deliver technical excellence in a fast-paced environment.

This role would suit a recently qualified Fire Engineering graduate or a graduate with relevant transferable skills.

As their Graduate Fire Safety Engineer, you will be developing fire safety strategies for buildings of all types and sizes. The role will involve carrying out fire risk assessments, preparing reports, sketches, drawings, and presentations, as well as liaising and negotiating with design teams, clients, approving authorities, contractors and other third parties.

You will be expected to travel within the UK and farther afield as needed to support the workload.

About you:

  • Degree or Postgraduate Qualification in Fire Engineering / related subject or equivalent
  • Experience and working knowledge of Autocad (essential)
  • Experience and knowledge of other fire engineering computer software, i.e. smoke modelling, thermal analysis etc (advantageous)
  • Good knowledge of fire safety legislation and the relevant guidance within the UK and internationally (including NFPA)
  • Able to bring innovative ideas to bear on all aspects of their projects and solutions
  • Able to explain technical issues and solutions in a manner that is accessible to all members of the project team
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with clients
  • You must be eligible to live and work in the UK
