Audit & Accounts Supervisor - Hertfordshire

Our client, a leading Top 20 accountancy firm, is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Supervisor to join their Hertfordshire team. The Role

As a key member of the team, you will manage audits, oversee accounts preparation, and provide valuable business advisory services. The position offers a blend of technical and client-facing responsibilities, with opportunities to supervise and mentor junior staff.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end audits, including planning, execution, and finalisation across various industries.
  • Supervise on-site audit teams, review work, and provide coaching to junior staff to ensure professional growth.
  • Manage deadlines and budgets to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate directly with partners and directors on complex engagements.
  • Prepare statutory and consolidated accounts alongside tax computations, with specialist tax support as needed.
  • Draft management recommendations and agenda points for client meetings.
  • Support clients with business advisory projects, including benchmarking, management information reviews, and proposals.
  • Contribute to internal training initiatives to develop technical expertise across the team.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Proven ability to lead audits, including group audits, with turnovers exceeding £20m.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, auditing standards, and primary accounting frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build lasting client relationships and inspire junior team members.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
