About the RoleOur client, a top 20 accountancy practice based in St Albans, is looking for an experienced and motivated Audit Supervisor to join their team. You'll work directly with partners and directors, leading a tight-knit group of professionals to deliver high-quality audit and advisory services. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career, combining technical expertise with leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit Leadership: Plan, supervise, and execute end-to-end audits across various industries, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Team Development: Set objectives for junior staff, review their work, and provide on-the-job coaching to support their growth.
  • Client Interaction: Build strong relationships with clients, liaising at senior levels and identifying opportunities for added value.
  • Technical Expertise: Prepare statutory accounts, consolidated accounts, and corporation tax computations with support from specialists.
  • Innovation & Efficiency: Suggest improvements to current processes and ensure seamless audit delivery.
  • Practice Development: Attend client events, identify business opportunities, and contribute to proposal pitches.
What We're Looking For
  • Qualifications: ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Proven ability to lead audit teams, including group audits.
    • Recent experience with audits of £20m+ turnover companies.
    • Strong grasp of UK GAAP, auditing standards, and both substantive and controls-based audits.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
    • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
    • Personable, confident, and adept at building client trust.
  • Motivation: A drive to grow professionally and support the development of others.
