What you'll do:

As a Financial Planner, your role will be pivotal in providing strategic financial planning across all aspects of the business. You will be responsible for managing cashflow, creating detailed budgets that align with business goals, preparing VAT returns in compliance with UK regulations, managing financial commitments such as payroll, and overseeing stock budgeting. Your ability to monitor stock-related financial performance will be crucial in driving business growth. This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be collaborating with various departments and presenting key financial information to senior management.

  • Oversee and manage the company's daily cashflow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to support operations and meet financial obligations.
  • Lead the preparation and management of detailed financial budgets (6-18 months ahead), working with departments to ensure alignment with business goals and forecasts.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring full compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Plan and manage financial commitments such as payroll, particularly when costs are increasing due to recruitment or other staffing changes.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing and operations teams to set and manage budgets for stock procurement and inventory levels, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Monitor and report on stock-related financial performance, including cost of goods sold (COGS), and provide insights for improving inventory turnover.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Financial Planner position brings a wealth of experience in cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting, VAT returns management, staffing costs management including payroll forecasting. Your strong understanding of stock budgeting within a retail or manufacturing environment will be essential. Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modelling is required. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to collaborate effectively across departments while presenting critical financial information to senior management.
