We are seeking a dedicated Depot Operative with a valid forklift truck license for a 12-ton machine to join our team in the rental industry. The role is vital for maintaining the efficient handling and movement of equipment and machinery within our yard, ensuring a safe and organised work environment.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Operate a forklift truck with a 12-ton capacity to handle equipment and machinery within the yard, including loading and unloading vehicles and organising inventory.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the forklift truck and other equipment, reporting any issues promptly for maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and collaborate with the warehouse team for seamless equipment tracking.
  • Keep the yard area clean, tidy, and well-organised, maintaining clear walkways and traffic routes.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, conduct daily safety checks on the forklift, and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Provide courteous and professional support to customers and colleagues, responding to inquiries and guiding equipment selection.
  • Load and unload equipment on and off transport vehicles securely to prevent damage during transit.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and logistics teams to fulfill orders and ensure a smooth workflow, communicating effectively to coordinate yard activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Valid forklift truck license for a 12-ton machine. Counterbalance licence.
  • Excellent understanding of safety regulations and guidelines related to forklift operation.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills for maintaining an orderly yard and precise inventory records.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues and serve customers.
