We are recruiting for an Import and Export Coordinator to join an established and forward-thinking logistics company in St Albans.
You will be based within modern offices and a vibrant department. This role would suit an individual who is passionate, ambitious and wishes to develop a career in international logistics, while working for a financially strong and stable company.
Our client has a proven record of developing individuals from within and outside the transport and logistics industry, and although experience will be of an advantage, if you are a graduate or have some relevant experience, possess excellent communication skills, and have a desire to progress in a successful but demanding environment, your application will be seriously considered!
What鈥檚 in it for you:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Salary: Up to 拢27,500k depending on experience, with regular appraisals to recognise continued development.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Hours: Monday to Friday 07.30-1630 or 08.00-17.30 with once Saturday morning in 6
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 22 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays

Key responsibilities:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Gain an understanding of the model of customs requirements for UK exports to the EU and EU Imports to the UK.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 To understand the road transport logistics model for moving freight to and from mainland Europe via Ferries or Eurotunnel
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Contacting clients by phone/email in the UK and in Europe assisting and answering questions and queries.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Email of customs pre-advices to UK and EU Customs Agents.聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Creating GMR鈥檚 (Goods Movement References) and checking the Goods Vehicle Movement System daily, this generates queries which you will resolve.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Creating and submitting Safety & Security Declarations.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Requesting T1s, updating their status, updating T1 tracker.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Auditing letters of Direct Representation and Deeds of Indemnity.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assisting Operations Team with phone answering, job file production.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assisting with the training of our driving team in customs processes.
What the employer is looking for:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong verbal and written commercial skills.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Organised, good attention to detail.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 French or German language would be an advantage, not a necessity.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An interest in geography and commerce.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An understanding of MS Excel
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Numerate and literate.聽聽聽
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 An understanding of customs processes post-Brexit would be a distinct advantage.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 This may also be a recent graduate who is interested in a career in logistics and international commerce.
