My client is looking for Corporate Solicitor to join their Corporate and Commercial Team.

The company has become one of the most successful and well-known law firms in the region, with national news coverage and international reach.

They are a full-service legal services provider advising organisations and individuals on everything about the law. Their culture is professional and client-orientated, but with a strong emphasis on collegiate relationships, friendship and fun.

The Department

The team’s work comprises a mix of commercial and corporate matters for a diverse range of clients. They help business from all sectors and industries, but have particular expertise in professional services, property, hotel and leisure, retail, healthcare, sport, media and entertainment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will undertake a range of corporate and commercial work. Your typical workload is likely to include advising clients on:

  • Assisting and advising business owners on establishing their company structure including drafting shareholder and partnership agreements.
  • Transactional work including share/asset sales and purchases, joint ventures, mergers and company restructuring projects and franchising.
  • Corporate finance including loans, debt to equity exchanges, refinances, investments.
  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing general commercial agreements including product and services supply terms and conditions, contracts, online terms and conditions, and licences for trading businesses.

The successful candidate will be able to run their own cases independently (but with support from the team) and to provide support to the Head of Department on larger transactions.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with 5 years + PQE, ideally with experience of working in a busy private practice team dealing with both transactional and non-transactional corporate and/or commercial work. Candidates should have strong academics and have worked within well-respected law firms.

Excellent interpersonal communications skills, both verbally and written, and attention to detail are essential as are good organisational and time management skills to manage multiple clients, matters, colleagues and other related activities to a high standard.

Proven ability to work under pressure and time constraints to meet deadlines.

The candidate will be able to adhere to firm procedures including but not limited to time recording and file management.

The ideal candidate will also have a proven record of achieving targets (time recording, chargeable hours and fees) in relation to their work within private practice or in-house.

The candidate will need to be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and be able to work efficiently as part of a team and individually.

A commitment to regular business development activities and managing client relationships is required.
