EMEA Senior Payroll Clerk

St. Albans- Hybrid

Up to £50,000 per annum

As a Senior Payroll Specialist for EMEA, you will report to the Global Payroll Manager and oversee payroll processing for multiple entities. Serving as the primary point of contact for the payrolls you manage, you will collaborate closely with payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely processing. Your responsibilities will include providing necessary payroll inputs, overseeing integration's, validating data before submission, and addressing vendor queries. Additionally, you will conduct audits and investigate any discrepancies to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • First point of contact for all EMEA payroll related matters, responds to complex employee payroll queries escalated from the Service Centre.
  • Interprets policies and regulation regarding leaves, disability, allowances, one-time payments, garnishments etc and work closely with payroll vendors to ensure they are applied through payroll and settled correctly.
  • Review payroll calculations for gross pay considering hours worked, bonus and commission payments, pension, absence- including sickness, holiday and leave- including redundancy & PILON.
  • Review salary calculations to ensure compliance with national minimum wage level.
  • Work closely with the People Systems team to ensure a smooth end to end cycle from the HR System to the payroll system, including hours worked.
  • Support the Global Payroll Manager to implement process improvement within assigned payrolls and act as a back up to support other payroll during team absence.
  • Review payroll policies/ procedures and ensures that the payroll calendars and processing schedules are consistent with organisational policies.
  • Other payroll-related activities as directed by the manager.

Experience:

  • Bachelors in HR or Payroll degree or Diploma in payroll is preferred.
  • Must have solid experience in Payroll with processing end to end payroll for multiple EMEA countries with more than 1500 employees.
  • Exposure to taxation, audit and compliance requirements.
  • Strong payroll management, stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external providers.
  • High level analytical and problem-solving capability.
