We are seeking a Year 2 Teacher to start working in a fantastic school, located in St. Albans, as Maternity Cover. This is a full-time position working 5 days and week and to be successful in this role you must be a qualified teacher and have previous teaching experience, ideally working with KS1 - KS2.

The Role:

  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan, prepare, and deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to the needs of Year 2 pupils.
  • Assess and Monitor Progress: Regularly evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to ensure individual learning goals are met.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and a love of learning.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure the best educational outcomes for all students.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the planning and refinement of the Year 2 curriculum, ensuring it meets national standards and supports student growth.
  • Pastoral Care: Support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting their well-being and personal achievements.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and contribute to the broader school community.

Requirements:

  • You must have Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience teaching is essential
  • Be an excellent communicator and have great behaviour management
  • Have a 'child workforce only' DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain one
  • Be available to start ASAP!
