Role: Quantity Surveyor
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: 40,000 to 55,000 + car & package
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a major highways project in the South East. Working closely with the joint venture partners, the Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with the Senior QS and supporting them with the commercial management of reactive and planned works to ensure one of the busiest roads in Europe remains operational regardless of the challenges it's facing. The successful Quantity Surveyor can expect a position that includes great career prospects, job security and a competitive starting salary and package.
As the Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Senior QS with measurements, valuations and cost reconciliation for all works
- Provide the project leadership team with a analyses of commercial progress, supporting with CVR's and cost forecasts
- Working closely with stakeholders and the commercial leadership team to support them on any commercial matters that arise
- Provide support in relation to the claims process
- Provide support to the junior members of the team
Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working in highways maintenance, utilities or similar fields
- Experience using the NEC contract
- Excellent communication skills
