The Opportunity:

Red Sky Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering company for a Senior Quantity Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, working on major infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of large-scale projects, with a focus on heavy civils. While water experience is not essential, a strong background on Civil projects is 

The Role:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide commercial expertise to the project team, ensuring accurate reporting and cost management. You'll oversee the financial aspects of contracts, handle variations, claims, and ensure that the company's objectives are met. You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, playing a pivotal role in the success of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost & Value Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels.
  • Cash Flow & Forecasting: Maintain precise cash flow reports and manage project forecasting.
  • Commercial Management: Oversee the commercial performance, ensuring adherence to contract requirements and company standards.
  • Supply Chain Management: Engage the supply chain with appropriate terms and conditions, ensuring risks are mitigated.
  • Subcontractor Management: Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial oversight.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Experience: Significant experience in civil engineering projects, with knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and construction law.
  • Skills: Strong commercial acumen, experience in procurement and subcontract management, and excellent communication skills.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively with operational teams.

Desirable:

  • Membership of RICS or a relevant professional body.
  • CSCS card.
