Our client is a leading Freight European Logistics provider. We are now looking for a Customs Clearance Coordinator based in St Albans

Joining the growing customs team, you will provide customs related services to a wide range of UK and European manufacturers, importers and exporters. Assisting clients with the customs processes required to move their cargo to or from Europe, this is your opportunity to become part of the Customs team

Joining an established, friendly team you will be required to:

* Handle customs requirements for UK exports to the EU and EU Imports to the UK.
* Gain an understanding of the road transport logistics model for moving freight to and from mainland Europe via Ferries or Eurotunnel
* Contacting clients by phone/email in the UK and in Europe assisting and answering questions and queries.
* Email of customs pre-advices to UK and EU Customs Agents.
* Creating GMR's (Goods Movement References) and checking the Goods Vehicle Movement System daily, this generates queries which you will resolve.
* Creating and submitting Safety & Security Declarations.
* Requesting T1s, updating their status, updating T1 tracker.
* Auditing letters of Direct Representation and Deeds of Indemnity.
* Assisting Operations Team with phone answering, job file production.
* Assisting with the training of our driving team in customs processes.

In order to apply you will have
* Experience and an understanding of customs processes post-Brexit
* Strong verbal and written commercial skills.
* Organised, good attention to detail.
* French or German language would be an advantage, not a necessity.
* An interest in geography and commerce.
* An understanding of MS Excel
* Numerate and literate.
* My client may also be interested in a recent graduate who is interested in a career in logistics and international commerce.
