Think Specialist Recruitment are delighted to be working with a fantastic client based in the St Albans area. This leading organisation have an exciting opportunity for a candidate with previous experience within logistics or supply chain to join their expanding team. This opportunity would suit someone who has worked within a similar environment, has an understanding of freight booking, shipment tracking and customs clearance procedures. The successful candidate will need to have intermediate Excel skills, as well as strong communication skills, and happy to be office based. Salary - £30,000 - £32,000 plus other benefits including a subsidised gym membership Monday - Friday - Office based Some of the duties will include:

  • Coordinate and book freight for shipments ensuring timely receipt of shipping documents
  • Generate and distribute shipping reports to keep all teams updated on order status as well as shipment progress across internal stakeholders and 3PL warehouses
  • Match freight invoices with incoming goods, keeping the system updated accordingly
  • Monitor shipment status via freight forwarder portals and provide regular updates on estimated delivery times
  • Liaise with factories and freight forwarders to ensure smooth transportation of goods
  • Submit necessary documentation for customs clearance
  • Collaborate with third-party warehouse management to ensure optimal stock arrangement
  • Provide costing and quotes for sea and air freight shipments as required by the business
  • Lead the yearly stock take process with the warehouse team

The suitable candidate:

  • Previous experience within logistics, supply chain management or operations coordination
  • Strong understanding of freight booking, shipment tracking and customs clearance
  • Experience of liaising with freight forwarders, factories and warehouse teams
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills on all levels
  • Must be happy to be office based
