A leading, high-growth company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping and Logistics Coordinator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in managing inbound shipments from international suppliers and factories, particularly in China, India and Turkey, to the UK and around the world. This role is critical to ensuring the timely delivery of products, maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and compliance throughout the entire shipping process.
As the Senior Shipping and Logistics Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inbound logistics, coordinating with various stakeholders. You will also play a key role in managing the purchase ledger and verifying invoices. Your ability to develop strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams will be essential to your success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Monitor shipment schedules and track shipments to ensure timely arrival.
- Ensure compliance with all international shipping regulations and UK import requirements.
- Oversee customs clearance processes and work closely with customs brokers to resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and other logistics-related activities.
- Manage shipping documents, ensuring accuracy of all commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required certifications (COO, COCs, B/L).
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, logistics partners, factories, and internal teams.
- Update SAP with shipped items, report inconsistencies, and resolve issues.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to inbound shipments.
- Ensure all products are received on time and processed efficiently to meet customer delivery dates.
- Coordinate with UK warehouses for timely re-processing and availability of stock.
- Send barcodes to the UK warehouse and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in shipping regulations.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and satisfaction by delivering goods on time and in good condition.
- Maintain all company trackers and product management reports.
- Plan capacity with company warehouses and flag any capacity concerns.
- Evaluate and select transportation modes, carriers, and routes to optimise delivery efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and reliable service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in shipping and logistics management, particularly with inbound shipments from international suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and UK import requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, with experience in managing purchase ledgers.
- Fluent English to business level.
