Carpenter & Plumber Contract Opportunities via BRC Jobs:                Carpenter   Location:        Cornwall (Company van can be provided) Sector:            Property and Housing Contract:        2-3 Months+     Salary:             £20.45 PAYE or £23.97 Umbrella   We are currently working with a social housing provider in Cornwall who are needing interim support for a carpenter and a plumber for roughly 2-3 months  Main Responsibilities:
  1. As part of a friendly and dedicated team, you will support in managing repairs requests and general minor works as required to social housing properties
  2. Undertake 1st and 2nd fix carpentry works, assisting with the repair, replacement and installation of: ceiling repairs, kitchens, internal & external doors, handrails, skirting boards, facias and soffits, garage doors and garden fencing.
  3. Working to your planned diary - You will be responsible for carrying out various roles to tenant’s homes
  4. Ensure excellent levels of customer service to tenants, providing advice and support and report requests or specify additional works to the manager when required
  5. Ensure value for money by analysing and identifying cost effective materials for the works and determining repairs or replacements are required
  6. Report to the property services supervisor and raising any concerns or difficulties when carrying out works
  7. Work collaboratively with colleagues, coordinating with suppliers and arranging works/accessibility to homes and gardens

  2. Carry out servicing and replacement including ball valves, baths, basins, solid fuel boilers, cylinders and tanks, gutters, leadwork, pipework, soil pipes, sinks and sink units, taps and cocks, waste traps and pipes, WC pans, cisterns, etc.
  3. Ensure excellent levels of customer service, taking all possible steps to accord with their reasonable wishes and taking account of any special needs
  4. Report any further repairs issues or defects to the manager and liaise closely with the winder trades teams to organise and arrange works
  5. Ensure all paperwork and records are up to date including appropriate certification and warning notices are correctly completed and signed
  6. Deliver a high quality customer service, liaising with tenants and advising on works being carried out
Job Requirements
  • NVQ 2 (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar role or within a skilled trade
  • Working in occupied domestic properties
  • Full driving licence
