Our client, a prominent manufacturing company, is actively seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team on a full-time, 12-month Fixed Term Contract basis.

As the Finance Assistant, you will provide comprehensive accounting support to the finance department and broader team, playing a crucial role in enhancing the overall efficiency of the finance function.

The responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records and promptly address any discrepancies.
  • Manage the full cycle of purchase invoicing and supplier payments, including processing invoices and executing timely payments to maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations and credit control activities to minimise outstanding debts and ensure a healthy accounts receivable position.
  • Oversee the sales invoicing process, ensuring accurate and timely billing to customers while addressing any invoice-related queries.
  • Contribute to the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Execute payroll processing duties and various ad hoc administrative tasks, demonstrating flexibility while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.

The candidate:

  • Hold a professional accounting qualification (AAT part/fully qualified) or possess relevant practical experience in finance or accounting.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex spreadsheet creation and data analysis.
  • Have practical experience with accounting software, specifically Sage 50 Accounts or Sage 200.
  • Exhibit strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple financial tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess excellent communication skills for professional interactions with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and management while maintaining confidentiality.
