Temporary Accountant Job in East Cornwall for 2 to 3 months
Are you a highly skilled finance professional with a knack for process improvement, technical accounting, and compliance?
We are looking for an experienced Interim Accountant for our client on a short-term basis, supporting critical finance and compliance initiatives during a transformational period for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Processes:
- Map out end-to-end processes
- Document key controls in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant format.
- Provide a list of recommended control implementations to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
Accounting Policies:
- Propose and implement a capitalisation process for fixed assets and stock associated with builds and installations.
- Update the revenue recognition policy in preparation for upcoming changes to FRS102.
Company Records:
- Review and ensure all company registers in Diligent are up-to-date and finalised.
Tax Compliance:
- Review capital allowances and transfer pricing reports for accuracy.
- Evaluate the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) position for contractors, ensuring correct registration or exemption.
- Assess transaction costs, termination payments, and optional remuneration arrangements for any required adjustments to historic tax returns or controls for future compliance.
Audit Support:
- Assist with year-end reconciliations to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
What We're Looking For:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Expertise in process documentation and internal controls, particularly with SOX compliance.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (FRS102) and tax compliance.
- Experience with capitalisation processes, CIS, and financial reporting systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive mindset.
