Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their team on permanent basis

You will

Lead on Strategic Service Reviews and business intelligence gathering to inform budget setting discussions and prioritisation of resource allocations

Creating large complex and multi-dimensional models that provide both financial and non financial information that support the strategic decision making process. These models need to be flexible to cope within a rapidly changing environment and allow scenario planning that will allow the Council to maximise the opportunities as quickly as possible

Ensuring that the knowledge and data required to analyse, model and forecast that underpins the Council’s strategic decision making process is kept up to date and managers and stakeholders are kept suitably informed and updated on timely basis

Creating standard forecasting and modelling tools that model both financial and related metric data to promote effective decision making that ensures the Council maximises the use of resources

Undertaking complex company assessments to corporate standards to ensure sound investment decisions can be made in relation to the council's procurement arrangements

Ensuring that all outline and detailed business cases for major capital investment are completed to the required standard in accordance with corporate procedures and protocols and specifically the financial modelling is correct and robust

You will able to

  1. Identify key areas for analysis, modelling and scenario planning and build models
  2. Deliver successfully projects assigned to the individual
  3. Review and improve option appraisal process
  4. Develop the required understanding of client businesses where responsibility is held
  5. Establish effective relationship with key finance and service management personnel.
