One of our leading NHS clients is looking for experienced mental health nurses to cover shifts in the community hospitals in the South West.

Description:

Provide community mental health nursing that contributes to the wider mental health services available to those within HMP Birmingham prison, particularly for individuals experiencing serious and enduring mental illness, symptoms of personality disorder, and acute phases of illness. This also includes needs-led interventions, referrals, and liaison with other agencies both within and outside the prison environment.Develop risk assessments and care management plans designed to identify and predict factors that minimize or prevent harm to both staff and prisoners.Ensure effective and integrated working with prison staff and other MDT professionals within the prison, such as social care providers, chaplaincy, and specialist services, including probation, forensic mental health services, and drug workers.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualification and NMC PIN
  • Experience of working in a secure setting
  • Mentoring qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a prison
  • Qualification or experience in delivering Trauma Informed Care
