Are you an experienced Project Accountant/Finance Manager looking for a new challenge and immediately available?

Our client is an exciting business based near St Helens who have recently been through a period of substantial growth and is now looking for a Project Accountant/Finance Manager to support them on an interim basis with the reporting across various projects, and improvement of financial reporting systems across the business.

That’s where you come in.

Having worked to a senior level in previous businesses, you’ll have gained significant experience across the finance function with exposure to process improvement, developing controls and transparency as well as the usual month end and year end reporting deadlines.

Aspects of the contract as Project Accountant/Finance Manager will include:

  • Oversee the allocation of accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate cost allocations and provide tighter controls where necessary.
  • Review all the operational budgetary controls and forecasts within the projects, continually reforecasting and providing commentary on any concerns of variances.
  • Provide variance analysis around margin, deferred revenue, and accrued revenue with commentary for the leadership team.
  • Support the production of the monthly management reporting pack and associated commentary around contract performance.
  • Assist the wider finance team with advice and support where necessary in order to improve reporting controls and processes.
  • Work closely with the commercial team and develop a deeper understanding of variances, establish controls in this area and revenue accountability.
  • Develop the reporting around the WIP, ensuring transparency around costs and overall budgetary controls and project cost management.
  • Assist with Tax/VAT claims around R&D.

The successful candidate will be able to start immediately and support the senior leadership team with the management of cost controls, as well as develop the processes within the monthly accounts and KPI reporting. You must be qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA and have some experience of cost management of contracts and projects, being able to assist with all levels of accounts and reporting.
