The RoleAs the Financial Controller, you'll lead a finance team of 2-3. You will play a key role in driving financial performance, enhancing processes, and acting as a strategic finance partner across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:Financial Leadership - Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.Business Partnering - Work closely with operations, project managers, and other key stakeholders.Audit & Compliance - Act as the main contact for year-end audits and IARs for project requirements.Project Finance & R&D Tax - Manage grant-funded projects, R&D tax claims, and reconciliations.Month-End Reporting - Review transactions, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.Payroll & Payments - Oversee payroll accuracy, input bank payments, and ensure invoices are paid within terms.Financial Process Improvement - Develop enhanced reporting to drive informed decision-making.
What We're Looking ForQualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)Strong experience in financial planning, forecasting, and process improvementLeadership experience managing a small teamAbility to business partner and provide financial insight to non-finance teamsExperience working on grant-funded projects (advantageous)Strong knowledge of audit processes and R&D tax reclaim
