This rapidly expanding retail / e-commerce business operates across multiple sectors and different platforms, they are growing at a significant rate by providing excellent products supported by a robust supply chain and excellent customer service. As a result of this they are looking to strengthen the finance team by recruiting a Management Accountant to provide key financial insight, reporting and analysis to support decision making. Reporting into the Head of Finance you will have full ownership of the management accounts process and provide support to colleagues in an associated business. The main responsibilities will be:
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.• Provide detailed variance analysis between actual and budgeted financial performance.• Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and related reports.• Assist in the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to set financial targets.• Prepare and maintain accurate financial forecasts, highlighting key trends and risks.• Analyse costs and identify cost-saving opportunities across the business.• Assist in advising on pricing strategies and profitability analysis.• Monitor and maintain financial controls to ensure compliance with regulations and accuracy of financial data.• Support external audit processes and ensure timely delivery of all necessary documentation.• Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity and prepare cash flow forecasts• Collaborate with senior management on capital expenditure planning and financing decisions.• Provide financial analysis for ad-hoc projects, new business initiatives, or strategic decisions.• Assist in identifying financial risks and opportunities for business improvement.
The ideal candidate for this role would be CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified, part qualified may also be considered. Candidates must have experience of a management accounting role and strong knowledge of accounting software. This is a high volume transactions business so the ability to interpret big data sets and present concisely to key stakeholders will be paramount.
