Assistant Accountant

I am currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to support the finance department in a growing family-owned company, reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

This role is perfect for someone who is meticulous, enjoys working with numbers, and is looking to grow their accounting expertise within a supportive environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Managing sales and purchase invoicing to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Maintaining the sales ledger and purchase ledger.
  • Performing bank reconciliations to keep financial records in check.
  • Overseeing credit control processes to ensure timely payments.
  • Executing bank payments with precision and accuracy.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Conducting balance sheet checks to ensure financial integrity.
  • Processing timesheets for accurate payroll management.
  • Onboarding new customers and setting up their financial accounts.
  • Completing monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet to maintain financial health.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
