Research Finance Administrator // St Helens // Permanent // £30-35k plus option of study support

We are delighted to be partnering with an innovative organisation based in St Helens as they look to grow the team with the addition of a Research Finance Administrator.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a concern that is conducting important, ground-breaking research.

The role will be focused upon tracking budgets and spend in relation to multiple ongoing projects and liaising with various stakeholders to access funds and ensure spend is managed in line with allocated budget.

Duties will include tasks such as:

  • Monitoring ongoing spend for multiple projects
  • Financial forecasting
  • Liaising with project managers to update on financial matters
  • Managing Government Grant-funded spend, making claims for financial reimbursements
  • Managing Industry-funded spend, invoicing for payment in line with agreed payment terms
  • Support with costings
  • Reporting and analysis

Skills and experience:

  • Exposure to previous finance administration
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High level of numerical accuracy
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills - able to explain financial status to Project Managers
  • A desire to work in an innovative organisation
  • Adaptable team player, driven to excel in a small collaborative finance team

In return you will receive study support for AAT if desired, 27 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 over time), DIS, medical cashback plan, variety of company discounts.

Working hours 8.30 - 4.30 ( alternative hours can be considered). Office- based ideally, but may be some flex for some remote days.
