Project Engineer
The Role
We are recruiting a Project Engineer who will be expected to provide an effective and efficient site engineering role.
The ideal candidate for this Project Engineer role will have relevant engineering experience within the Civil engineering, Construction, Utilities and Power sectors. A third level qualification in Civil engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is a requirement for this role.
The role requires good written and verbal communication skills and you will be fully flexible regarding travel as you will be expected to travel to site locations and stay away when required.
Specific responsibilities include the following but are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:
Ensure efficient programme of works
Responsibility for measurements and valuations
Assume responsibility for setting out /dimensional control
Ensure effective organisation of sections of work
Maintain daily/weekly contact with Site Agent
Assume responsibility for decision making in conjunction with Site Agent
External contact with clients representatives
External contact with sub-contractors
Ensure timely payments to sub-contractors
Assist and participate in on and off-site training
Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations ensuring that all issues of Health and Safety are monitored regularly and accurate records maintained
Any other reasonable duties as required
The ability to constructively solve problems both short and long term.
Management of diverse relationships in a multi-disciplinary site environment, including managers, employees, owner-drivers and external bodies
The ability to effectively communicate thoroughness of reporting
Maintain an eye for detail throughout the contracts
Project and promote commitment to the job.
The work environment
Although the companys headquarters are based in St Helens, our project teams work throughout mainland UK and from Shetland to the Channel Islands, so we are flexible and want to hear from candidates from anywhere in the UK
